Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri is a famous Indian actor who earned notoriety for her roles in Hum Aapke hain Koun and Beta Saajan. Her career began in the early 1980s and was introduced to prominence with her performance in the film Tezaab where she played with veteran actor Anil Kapoor. Then she appeared in the film Dil where she co-starred on the screen with Aamir Khan. She was born into an Mumbai middle-class family, and started dancing at a young age. She began acting when she was a youngster and struggled for several years because most the films she made were flops. Her career eventually took off and she became one of the most prominent actors in the Indian film industry. She took a hiatus from her career following her marriage, but returned into the entertainment business. Recently, she had an important part in the movie Gulaab Gang which was about the struggles of women in India. Dixit was nominated fifteen times in the Filmfare Awards. She won 8 of the awards. Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian award given to civilians in India has been bestowed on Dixit. She is well-known for her social works as well.
